Along
Along was composed from January 25 to January 26 2009. As indicated in the score the piece should be “smooth and steady”. The opening groove centers around an extended D-Flat major tonal center which is abandoned upon entry of the main theme. Here, attention is focused on harmonic progression amidst syncopated rhythmical gestures. We transition to the B section where a new rhythmical pattern is harmonically developed leading us to subsequent transposed restatements of the initial A section. The final transposition returns us to the initial tonal center for completion of the circle upon which we’ve traveled along.
