Every Day
Every Day was composed on December 23, 2008. The piece revolves around a pervasive Mideastern groove with pulsing harmonies. After setting the groove at opening the primary melody brings us to a descending harmonic pattern with ever-changing color-chords. The whisper-quiet B section continues the pulse while digging harmonically deeper. What follows are two additional A-B restatements with each transposed and treated from a different harmonic perspective. We then return home to the primary A section and part way through the B section are transformed to the epilogue introducing a new harmonic center with repeating waves of sound. After soaking in these waves we eventually fade to finish.
